Pretty much everyone is absolutely unhappy that Ford didn't put the twin turbo V6 in as an option. I mean if u want power and talk about a Builders car that would be the one. Imagine an AWD one. It could compete with the GTR.

If I'm not mistaken, the HP package runs the same size intercooler as the base 2.3 EB. Put a big aftermarket intercooler on it and the heat soak issues would probably disappear.

It sure would have been nice to see comparative hot lap times for other stock mustangs. For example regular EcoBoost. Regular GT. Etc..
I just found a couple hotlaps to compare. Abour 1 second difference compared to GT500.
1:33:84 GT500 hot lap
1:34:57 Ecoboost HPP
1:36:11 GT350R

330 horsepower is no joke. It is easy to be spoiled with all the high power cars out there but, as seen in the beginning of the video, when Randy was smoking those tires and combine that with a Mustang with less weight you have the makings of a well balanced sports car. With that said my only issue with this car is reliability. This Mustang is lighter because of this engine but it is no Ford Focus. Hopefully time in that Focus helped Ford improve this engine. Because Mustangs are known for their V8, this engine would have been perfect for a new smaller compact performer like a re-imagined Ford Maverick. Imagine this engine in something the size of last Dodge Dart but with the styling of a modern looking Maverick. Sadly, that is something we will never see.

It’s so weird hearing a 4 banger sound coming out of a big mustang.

About the same lap as the Type R. Wow. 1:34.46 in the Type R, 1:34:57 in the Stang.

Nah, a Mustang should have a V8. Why even put anything but a V8 in a Mustang, there are other cars for that.

Eco boost heat soak lol a story I know all to well….

I have one. traded a 2018 GT in for it. The GT has the top end ,but 0-60, the eco is right there. Handling wise, the HPP with handling pack is as good or better then a GT PP2. Fun little car. No regrets. If horsepower is more important than handling, get the GT.

Depending on your perspective and desires, this could be better than Civic Type R especially considering the cost, but maybe, Camaro 1LE offers even better value

You know, I've been tossing up between the eco and the v8. But you made my decision easy. I loved everything you said about the eco boost, and I'd prefer nimbleness over power, but I'll be grabbing the V8 as its not even considered hot here until its 108 degrees and I don't want have an over heating issue.

300+ hp for a turbocharged four-banger from factory. Good job, Ford! A buttload of large capacity V8's can't even come close to how well these new, small engines perform these days. The V8 diehards can weep, but this is the way things are now. And I bet my lunch money that the great handling on this Mustang was helped a lot by the lighter engine in the first place.

330hp ain't bad for a factory turbo 4cyl. Would be cool in a pinto

"Makes more torque on the low end than the v8" isn't saying much given the coyote makes the worst low end power in it's class.

Love this guy… though I like eco boost, I own one and had a few… it doesn’t sound good. If they would improve the exhaust note they would sale double! Nice car, great driving! 😎🙏
